Patient Parking Notice  

Please do not park in the road to the left of the surgery.

This is a PRIVATE road and hinders residents from passing freely and in turn causes the surgery many complaints, time better spent on providing patient care. The surgery has done all it can to make as many parking spaces available as possible and all users of the surgery car park are asked to consider fellow-patients and residents when parking their car. Thank you.



East Grinstead is currently undergoing a significant rise in the construction of new houses which is impacting on our list size. The additional workload this increase in patient numbers is creating means that we are finding it difficult to sustain a workload that is safe and manageable.
The national shortage of GPs means that we are also experiencing difficulty in recruiting a new full time GP. We have therefore taken the very difficult decision to cap our list size. This means we will no longer be registering new patients until our list size falls to a more manageable number and we have advised NHS England of this decision.
Information on where to register at other surgeries in the area can be found on the NHS Choices website Alternatively, if you need to register with a GP surgery in East Grinstead, please contact NHS England on 01293 729298, so that they can arrange for you to be allocated to a local GP surgery.
We regret that we have had no alternative but to reach this decision but feel that patient safety for our existing patient population is paramount.

Mrs Heike Burnett
Mrs Heike Burnett is our Practice Business Manager and manages all business aspects of the practice. She may be able to assist with any administrative or non-medical aspects of the practice.

Ms Tess Clarke 

Ms Tess Clarke is our Practice Manager for Patient Services and manages all operational aspects of the practice. She may be able to assist with any administrative or non-medical aspects of the practice.

Ms Helen Griffin
Reception Manager
Helen has many years experience in general practice and has been with Moatfield Surgery since 2013. Please do ask to speak to her regarding any concerns or suggestions you may have.

Mr David O'Connor
IT Manager
Modern general practice is far removed from the old appointment book and manual labour in receiving and recording data. A robust IT system is key to achieving best outcomes. David has a strong background in IT provision and may be able to assist patients with any issues relating to electronic access.

We have an excellent team of fully trained Receptionists and Medical Secretaries.They have a difficult job to do, with phone calls and enquiries from every direction. Occasionally, they may need to ask a few details. They have been trained to make these enquiries to judge the urgency of any medical matter and for us to help you in the most appropriate way. Any information will always be treated in confidence.
