Talking Therapies

Talking Therapies is a free and confidential NHS Service avalible to adults registered to a GP in West Sussex aged 18+ who would like some support with one or more of the diagnosed conditions listed below.

 

 

 

Talking Therapies provide treatment for people with the following common mental health problems:

  • agoraphobia
  • body dysmorphic disorder (BDD)
  • depression
  • generalised anxiety disorder
  • health anxiety (hypochondriasis)
  • mixed depression and anxiety (the term for sub-syndromal depression and anxiety, rather than both depression and anxiety)
  • obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • panic disorder
  • Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • social anxiety disorder
  • specific phobias (such as heights, flying, spiders etc.).

Their qualified team of therapists and practitioners work with you alongside your healthcare team in order to achieve the outcomes you want, whether it’s to:

  • Overcome worries, anxiety or low mood about your health.
  • Reduce the impact of your condition(s) in your home life, work and/or other activities.
  • Make healthier lifestyle changes big or small.
  • Increase your knowledge and understanding of your symptoms.
  • Managing stress whilst juggling multiple responsiblities.
